Life

Check out the cute little birdie... my mom found it hopping on the staircase leading up to my block about 2 fridays ago.. it was shivering in the rain and probably lost it's bearings.. mum brought it back as there are alot of fierce cats in our neighbourhood.. the next day, we went to Alexandra Village and got it a cage and bird food.. its now officially ours!! The pet shop guy said it's probably a love bird (based on the pictures he saw).. we haven't gotten a chance to bring it to the shop, but when we do, we'll probably get it a companion.. mum named it Goldie..

I never fail to get bored just by watching it.. it took a while to get used to us.. but now it doesn't mind when we come near and would eat its seeds even when we're sitting right beside it..previously it would hope away... it really is amazing to just watch it move, hear it tweet, see how it responses to our whistles. Each time I look at it, I feel wonder and awe, overwhelmed with the fact that this creature is one of the many amazing creatures of God's creation. SO beautiful. I wish it could react more to us, like lets say, a dog, but as mum says, it has a bird brain, I can't expect much... when it sleeps (the picture on the left) it fluffs up its feathers, curls itself into a ball, tucks its head under one of its wings and somehow manages to balance on one foot. Today mum gave it a bath and its feathers were wet, I managed to see its ears.. to little holes at the side of its head.. and its breathing holes are two dots on its beak...
In our fast-paced society, its so easy to go about our daily doings and not notice the little things. I'm not one to say that I'm one with nature or I really love it, coz how much time do I actually devote to it anyway. But when I do take time to breathe, and stop whatever I'm doing for a while, I take the chance to admire nature and all of God's beautiful creation.. have you ever seen anything which a human being has invented that is so beautiful as flowers? The trees that provide shade and oxygen? Ever stop to observe your pet.. for example, my little birdie.. so small, and yet it has a heart, it breathes air just like we do, it has a complex network of a system that enables it to survive, to live, and this is what God has created. Only he creates living things that are so beautiful. What can human beings do.. humans are creative, no doubt, but can they create hearts? What they create are non-living things. Robots and inventions and what else have you. Nothing can beat or nothing is more beautiful than life and God's creatures.
Heartbeats are something that I always look out for, as it's a sign that we're alive, just like our God is a living God. I once said before, with every beat of my heart I can feel the living God's presence so strongly. Of course, one would have to be without sin, as much as possible. It would be hard to feel God's presence with a tar-stained heart. Anything that does not have a heart, or no longer has a heart, is hollow and empty.. and is not alive anymore, its dead to the world, it does not belong in this world..
I can never understand cloning or how it works...how can human beings create life.. or clone it.. it is already altered; its not natural. I guess that's what the Catholic religion is about...and the more I think of it, the more I feel that we should give thanks and praise to the awesome almighty God up above and alive in our hearts.. for He is all deserving of praise, He is all knowledgeable, and it is something our human minds can never dare to even try to comprehend. We would not be able to take it. Look at Adam & Eve and the first original sin. Enough said.

I see your handiwork all around me oh Lord, I see the love you have for all your living creatures just by being who they are Lord. I thank you for making me a part of your beautiful creation. And I pray, that all of us with have respect for life Lord, have respect for your creation Lord, and to give you all the honour and praise and thanksgiving forevermore. Amen.
